Where's the hotel??
Paris is separated into 20 districts called
'arrondissements'. Whenever you look at a map of paris, the
1st arrondissement [also written as 1ere,
for 'premier' which means 'first'] can be found in the centre of the
map. The other 19 have been drawn on a circle which curves to
the left, underneath [the Left Bank], above and back again, like the shape of a coil.
To make it easy for you, I have listed the post code of the
arrondissement - from 75000 to 75020 - beside the name of the hotel.
Hotel Arrival Times
Please double-check what time you can check in.
Recently when I landed in Paris I arrived at my hotel at 8am, and I had
made arrangements to check in early. Many hotels have a
mid-day / noon check-in, so if you're arriving much earlier, drop off
your luggage and take a walk, or while away a few hours in a cafe with
your travel journal, maps and trip
notes. Yes you might be tired and feel like a shower, but you can wait
a couple of hours and make the most of the gorgeous city you've just landed in :-)
