Paris Transport Taxi

Paris transport taxi services are very reliable. As well as Paris transport taxis are a quck way to get around.

Transportation in Paris is easier than you think - Paris is pretty small, so taxis are aplenty. If your French isn't very good, always always have your destination written clearly on a piece of paper to show to the taxi driver.

Just like any city around the world, peak traffic times can mean delays, so take this into account.

Paris is realitvely small, so it came as a surprise to me to find out there are 15,300 taxis operating, day and night. .

How much does a taxi ride cost?

According to the Prefecture of Police, taxi prices as at 17 April 2007 are:

A: 0,82 Euro/km - Applicable within the city limits from 10am to 5pm. The city limits covers Paris as far as the boulevard périphérique (ring road) inclusive.

Tariff B: 1,10 Euro/km - Applicable within the city limits from 5pm to 10am and on Sundays and public holidays from 7am to midnight. Applicable in the suburban zone from 7am to 7pm, the suburban zone including all Paris territory situated outside the ring road, the other towns and areas mentioned by the ministerial order dated 10 November 1972 and services to and from Orly and Roissy airports and the Villepinte exhibition centre.

Tariff C: 1,33 Euro/km - Applicable within the city limits from midnight to 7am on Sundays. Applicable in the suburban zone from 7pm to 7am and on Sundays and public holidays (day and night). Applicable beyond the suburban zone at all times.

When the taxi waits for you or runs slowly, the hour tariff applies: - Tariff A: 26.28 Euro€ - Tariff B: 29.90 Euro - Tariff C: 27.80 Euro

The flagfall/pick-up charge is 2.10 Euro.

Minimum journey charge, including supplements, is set at 5.60 Euro.
