The French Bulldog : Bouledogue
Français
I'd
never heard of the French bulldog until I
started to get a lot of searches on my website, so I thought I should
investigate it.
Evidently these dogs were bred by bulldog owners
in the UK.
They were small - from 16-28 pounds in weight, and
many artisans preferred them, especially lacemakers.
When these artisans moved to France to expand
their business, they took their small bulldogs with them - which became
known as Frenchies.
Evenutually Americans who saw these bulldogs in
France fancied them, and imported them into the USA.
They are well-loved worldwide and make an
excellent companion.
French bulldog breeders
These days you can find French bulldog breeders
around the world - here is a list of websites I've found:
French bulldog puppies
Evidently the French bulldog puppies are
delightful, and as
they mature, are perfect companions for all ages. In fact,
they are used in nursing homes and hospices for patients -
someone for them to cuddle and love, and to look forward to seeing on a
regular basis. Pets are often used by hospitals to improve
the health of patients.
