I love your site!!! I must have read it a few times already. I am an American who get along just fine with the French. :)

I want to bring my Girlfriend for the first time to Paris and impress the sh*t out of her! Where would you go if you get to Paris about 2200 hours and you don’t want to go to bed right away, and it’s your first time in Paris? We are both hopelessly romantics!

Is there anything special happening the weekend of Nov 9th? Do you know a site where these kinds of things would be listed? I would also like some info on Jazz clubs/cafes. I am positive Paris does not go to bed early!

Thanks!

Dear Hopeless Romantic,

<img decoding=How exciting you are bringing your girlfriend to Paris for a romantic visit, I’m sure you’ll both have a wonderful time!

If you’re looking to head out straight to a Paris nightclub, click here to visit our Nightclubs page. Or you might consider joining the Paris Night Walking Tour – Bars and Nightclubs. It starts at 9pm, so you’d miss the first bit, but it might be fun!

If you’d like to go to a restaurant or brasserie, I can highly recommend Le Pied au Cochin, one of my all time favourites – click here to visit the Paris Brasseries page.

I’d love to recommend that you take a Bateau Mouche boat cruise on the River Seine the night you arrive, but I don’t know of any which go at 10pm at night. If I do find one, I’ll let you know! You can of course take this ride during the daytime. Click here for a list of night cruises.

For something really special, consider a daytime Hidden Canal Barge Cruise. This is a most leisurely and interesting journey, and you can take the barge one way if you like, which takes 2.5 hours.

For one of your other days in Paris, I can suggest a romatic horse and carriage ride, which departs from the Eiffel Tower (where else?) from Wednesday to Sunday at 4:30pm, and lasts for one and a half hours.

For some additional ideas. click here to visit my page on Things To Do In Paris.

If you’re going to be in Paris for a few days, then you might think about the 2, 4 or 6 days PARIS PASS, which gives you free entry to over 60 sights and attractions, as well as free public transport.

I’ll look to see if there’s anything special happening around the 9th November 2007, and will get back to you asap!

And don’t forget to come back and upload a photo of your trip, and let me know how it went :-)

Cheers
Teena

UPDATE! Back from Paris!

We had the most romantic time in Paris for three nights. But you are right, three nights or three months, its not enough! We had dinner at 2 o’clock in the morning in your favourite restaurant, Au Pied de Cochon. It was fantastic!

I had the Anguiette and my girlfriend had the Sole Muniere. She was stunned how the waiter cleaned her fish right by the table for her to enjoy it without the bones. What a service!

Needless to say, we thank you for all the great pointers you gave us before we went. We are looking forward to do this again.
