Looking for unusual cafes in Paris?

I love sitting in cafes in Paris, watching the world go by, daydreaming of nothing in particular.  The babble of voices of clientele and waitstaff in the background, the aroma of fresh espresso, and the delivery of a cafe creme, served with grand panache, breaks my reverie and brings me back down to earth.

Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh ... what could be better than this??

I thought it might be fun to list some cool cafes, each offering a different experience, where you can meet the Parisians and get to know them. Here goes!

Feel like singing ... in a cafe?

Unusual Cafes to visit

Drôle d’Endroit Pour Une Rencontre [DEPUR] : A Strange Place for an Encounter

Drop by the Drôle d’Endroit Pour Une Rencontre for an interesting time - on the walls you can see clothes pegs and clothes lines carry adverts for flat-shares or ideas for exchanges. Looking for love?  You can read through the identification sheets (in French and English) and maybe find 'the one'. Try the brunches, and don't miss the daily changing themes ... soirées ’psy’, ’work in progress’, ’girls out’, ’culture cocktail’, ’Depur privatisation’, ’sessions IPOD and DJ’s'. Well worth a visit.
