Read the list of fun activities for kids to do indoors in Paris, from go-karts to rollerblading

Hi Denise,

Thanks for visiting my website!

Paris has tons of things to do on a rainy day with kids, from museums to movies to go-karting.

Everything is accessible by public transport in , which makes life so easy for getting around. Click the button at left to read about some of yor fun options.

I've also added a few other options for you below:

Read the list of fun activities for kids to do in Paris and outskirts

Lots of fun activities for kids including animals and birds in ParisThere are plenty of fun activities for kids in Paris in summer timeLots of fun activities for kids around water in Paris, from swimming pools to waterfallsLots of fun activities for kids in Paris at the circusWhat to do in Paris France? So many things to choose from in the City of Love and Light

Visit an Aquarium

CinéAqua - The Trocadéro Aquarium (website in English) is a tropical water treat - the kids will love it!

See the colourful tropical fish, fabulously exotic underwater species, and don't forget to visit the crocodile pit. There are supposed to be 9,000 fish and 26 sharks! They provide so many activities from an underwater sound studio, a ‘green wall of incrustation’,  a fun cartoon workshop, a well organised daddy day camp, plus underwater robots and a film program. Located in the Trocadero area, you can grab a bite to eat in the museum at Cafe Petit Jules Verne or for more experimental food, or take a picnic with you.

Visit a Museium about dinosaurs

The main building in the Jardin du Plantes is the home of the fascinating dinosaur museum, the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle. The description of “comparative anatomy, mineralogy and paleontology” might sound a bit dry, you can also see living reptiles in the reptiles gallery of the Ménagerie at the Jardin des Plantes. There is also a fabulous Fossil gallery containing objects which were part of King Louis XIII's Cabinet of Curiosities. Check out the collection online with the kids before you leave home, and plan your fun-filled visit in advance..

Visit the Kid's Science Museum

The Parc de la Villette houses the Cité des sciences & de l’industrie,

If your kids are interested in a world of invention and technology, this is the place to go. There is a real submarine to explore, a satellite dish, and summer events which include performances and music nights. Here you'll find a science museum designed for kids - the Cité des Enfants, (the City Of Children), where they can pick up a bit of French as many of the explanations are in French - plus it’s free with the Paris Pass.

Go to the movies

A great wet-weather thing to do. Find a kid's movie with sub-titles, buy some popcorn and spend a couple of hours lauging at funny movies.

Meet a Parisian Local

I can highly recommend booking yourself in with Paris Greeters - the wonderful free service where you specify what you're interested in, and an English-speaking local will spend a couple of hours with you showing you a part of Paris.

When the sun comes out again

When the weather clears up, there are tons of other things to do - go to some of the great markets, visit the underground Catacombs, and if they're interested in art maybe one of the Open Artist Studios will be on during your visit.

I hope you have a fabulous time! Do write back and let me know how your trip was. This webpage is now devoted to your question, so if you'd like to give tips to other parents travelling with kids in Paris, you can simply click the ADD A COMMENT link below to share your stories.

Thanks Denise! Bon Voyage!
