Postcards from Paris 2009 Aug 22
August 2009
Hi, Teena here!
Welcome to my latest news - I hope there's something here about Paris to inspire you, whether you're a seasoned traveller, armchair traveller, or new to the City of Light and Love :
- Video greeting
- Loving the new website format
- Questions & Answers via the website
- new webpages about Paris, from Things To Do to Restaurants to Moonllight Cinema ...
- Will you be in Paris in November?
I'm trying something new today - I've made a little video - simply click the centre/center of it to hear me speak (only takes 1 minute!).
.
.
PS - To stop the video, move your mouse over the bottom of it so you can bring the controls in view - click the Paus/Stop symbol - let me know what you think!
Gosh can it be a month since the last newsletter already? The time has flown by so quickly! I have so much news to share today!
I've been busy moving my 280 website pages into the new Content Management System (a CMS - I've done a lot; if you need website help, you can contact me through my web design company http://Buil;dAWebsiteTonight.com [new window opens]) and I'm thoroughly enjoying it!
You might also have noticed a little blue bird in the top right corner of the website pages (I'm testing out the position). This is the Twitter symbol, as I've started connecting with people via Twitter. I've been absolutely thrilled with the response! After tweeting (writing short 140-character messages) online since around 20th July, I now have 140 followers and I'm amazed.
Interacting with other people who are interested in Paris has been lovely, and has increased the number of people who visit my website. Woohoo! The idea is for me to read what my followers write, and visit the links they recommend. If I enjoy them, I retweet to tell other people. This builds a wonderful community online. If you'd like to see what it's all about, click the little blue birdie :-) To write on Twitter (post a 'tweet') you'll need to get your own Twitter account first - it's quick and easy. Feel free to tweet me!
What to do in Paris?
On the home page you will find a series of buttons to click on, to take you to the pages which interest you - it looks like this:
New format for Postcards from Paris Newsletter!
I'm really pleased with the new software for the website - I'm able to quickly add News items as I hear about them, which means I can display them so much easier for you here. Do let me know what you think, I'd love to hear if this is easier for you to read online and get the latest changes to the website in an easy-to-read format.
Ok, let's jump in and see what's been happening the past few weeks!

Will you be in Paris in November?
I'll be spending November in Paris and teaching my week-long workshops - it would be great if you could join me for one of them!
At the Silk Painting Adventure you'll learn this amazing and beautiful ancient French technique each morning, and explore Paris with us in the afternoons via barge cruise, champagne cruise, visiting the best fabric district and having lots of fun.
If you join us for the Plus Size Fashion Adventures we'll visit fabulous plus size stores (to suit all budgets) each morning, and attend fashion parades, fashion museums, Parisian stores to find gorgeous trinkets as well as amble along Paris' cobblestoned streets as we explore to our heart's content. If you'd like to know more, pop over to Adventure page to read more >>
Don't forget to go slow, smell the roses (and the croissants & coffee) and take time to enjoy your holiday
Are you off to Paris soon or already there? I do hope you have a faaabulous time, and please remember to enjoy yourself and don't run yourself ragged trying to see every single tourist attraction, or you'll need a vacation when you get home :-)
You can always return to Paris another time, and if you're anything like me, you enjoy hanging out in sidewalk cafés or parks and simply watching the world go by. Enjoy your holiday by feeling like a local - that's my best tip.
