French Food and
Wines : Cheese
Typical French food
French food and wines, cheese, patés,
cornichons, traditional hors d'oeuvres - ahhh the food of France - you
simply must try them all when you're
in Paris.

Camembert
and grapes
Typical French food at the markets
I always feel
so lucky to be able to walk outside my apartment and find cheese stores
or market stalls every day of the week, offering me the most amazing
cheeses [fromages] ranging from smelly or bleu, goats' cheese rolled in
ashes, to runny and superb.
You can buy the smallest amount with a half baguette
[batard], a bunch of grapes or some fresh fruit, and have a picnic on a
park bench in one of Paris' many parks.

While you're at the markets, check out all the
other delicious goodies to go with your picnic! And don't be
too shy to ask the stall vendors to give you a little taste before you
buy - if you're polite, and practice your French, you shouldn''t have
any problems :-)

Brie
cheese
PS - don't forget the cornichons, crunchy tiny
pickled cucumbers, which you'll see throughout France.
As I take photos of the different types of cheese,
I'll include them here - I love seeing the photos of food, don't you?
