Famous French Food What to eat in Paris
It was on my mind - famous French food - when can I eat it??? These
daydreams about French food saturated my thoughts and tastebuds right
up until I landed in Paris in June 2008, for my visit to friends and to
teach at the Silk Painting Adventure.
I couldn't wait to have my tastebuds tingling with all the
flavours I adored! If you're wondering what to eat in Paris,
these photos might help :-)
 Above:
For breakfast I bought Parisian croissants - a butter croissant
(croissant au beurre) and a chocolate croissant (pain au chocolate).
So is this typical French food? You bet! This next
croissant below was purchased on a different day - can you see the
difference between the shapes of the butter croissants? They do vary
from patisserie to patisserie (bakery), and there are always plenty of
bakeries to choose from until you find just the right croissant. In
this photo below you might also notice my all time favourite French
strawberry jam - the label is Bonne Maman (Good Mother) and the type is
"Fraises" - strawberries. Yum!
Below
is a photo I took of a Patisserie - a pastry store - isn't it
beautiful? Those gorgeous famous French pastries - oh yum!
